Celebrating Milestones: NAWODI’s Achievements and Vision for the Future

From our roots in 2018 to today, NAWODI has made significant strides in empowering women and youth across Uganda. Our achievements reflect the dedication of our team, partners, and communities. In 2021-2022, with CRVPF (funded by Mastercard Foundation), we trained 350 girls in modern tailoring and hairdressing, all skilled in soap making. In 2023, Theirworld UK supported training 105 girls in hairdressing, cosmetology, and liquid soap making. Our 2024 EYDCD project graduated 100 young girls and formed VSLAs, boosting entrepreneurship.

In climate action, we’ve created 150+ green jobs, produced 20 tonnes of briquettes yearly, planted 3,000+ trees, and sensitized 1,000+ people. SRHR and GBV efforts have reached 150+ teenage mothers, improving health outcomes and community responses. Through economic empowerment, over 150 beneficiaries have started micro-enterprises, and 4 VSLAs thrive with 120 members.

Our success stems from partnerships with CRVPF, Theirworld, GAIA, and KCCA, and a robust structure led by our Executive Board (chaired by Mr. Lukwago Patrick) and Secretariat. Looking to 2025-2028, we plan a Women and Youth Skilling & Innovation Centre in Rubaga, expanded digital skilling, green projects in new districts, stronger partnerships, and sustainability through social enterprises.

We’re proud of our impact and excited for what’s next. Support NAWODI by donating, volunteering, or partnering—contact us at +256 743 799 723 or via email. Follow our journey on social media and be part of the change!
